JAR RECYCLE + FAQ
So you've burned through your favorite Wild Onyx candle and are lost in the void with that same feeling that happened when you finished the final episode of The Office. Of course you've already taken your moment to mourn and reflect, hopped on our page and ordered your replacement, but what do you do now?
We have a recycling program at Wild Onyx (the earth thanks you for participating). If you send us back 3 jars with their lids, we will send you a code to claim a free candle on us as a thank you (WHO DOESN'T LOVE FREE THINGS?!)! We recommend cleaning out the jars yourself (oven method, boiling method, freezing method) to lighten your package and save on shipping cost, but sending them back as is, is perfectly fine too!
Jar returns can be dropped off at any event we are vending for. If you can not attend an event, jars can also be sent back to us in the mail. We are not responsible for shipping and packaging costs to send jars back.
Safely package 3 jars with cushioning between (paper, bubble wrap, etc.). Send us an email to email@example.com for shipping destination information and how to redeem your free candle.
Q: Why does my candle have a large flame?
A: Most of the time, if your candles don't seem to be burning adequately, there is a simple fix. Make sure to keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 in. and the first time you light your candle be sure to keep it lit for a few hours.
Q: What is the proper method to burn my Wild Onyx candle?
A: Be sure to keep your wick trimmed to 1/4th in. before each lighting. To keep your candle burning evenly make sure the wax pool is melted to the edges of the candle before blowing your candle out (we suggest keeping your candle lit for 3-4 hour increments). Keep your candle placed on a flat, heat proof surface; away from kids, pets and drafts. Discontinue use when only 1/2" of candle wax remains. Continuing to burn your candle past use can cause heat damage.
Q: Why does my candle have spotting on the jar/sweating on top?
A: All of our candles are hand poured with love. Slight variations in color can be expected from batch to batch, as well as slight imperfections. Temperature changes during transit may cause sweating/spotting and because we cannot control this, we can not offer replacements.
